The
Dallas Symphony Orchestra's first 2009-2010 appearance in Greenville brings
music from two iconic ballets: Copland's Saturday Night Waltz and Hoedown
from his much-loved Rodeo and the supremely beautiful music from
Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. The concert concludes with Dvorak's Cello
Concerto No. 1, performed by the acclaimed cellist, Jolyon Pegis.

Jolyon Pegis joined the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in 2000, coming from
the San Antonio Symphony. Prior to that, he worked for the Chautauqua
Symphony, Erie Philharmonic, Arcadia Trio, Fairfield Chamber Orchestra,
Norwalk Symphony and Yellow Barn Music Festival. He was also on the faculty
at Mercyhurst College. He holds degrees from Indiana University and Hartt
School at the University of Hartford. His teachers include Alan Harris,
Fritz Magg, Gary Hoffman and David Wells.
